The new Google Maps

Over the years there have been many changes and additions made to Google Maps but none that stood out. This time it’s different. Google has now made their maps more personal than they were earlier.  With the new Google maps, all you have to do is log on to your Gmail account and watch Google maps show you all the places on the map that you would most likely be interested in, show you places that you usually hang out at or show you places where your friends have been. Basically, the maps will now give you a more friendly experience.

Google has rebuilt Google Maps, with the aim to design it such that there is interaction between the user and the map. For example, it could show you all the offers or deals that a particular restaurant has. By clicking on any part of the map information will pop up and you can get easy directions etc. to that place. So you could check out what offers Dominos has when you’re driving to some place and you feel like chowing down on a pizza.

Another thing that Google has done is improve its navigation system. The navigation system is now much smarter and it provides many more travel options, which is a relief to all those people who are bad with directions, just like me.

Another brilliant feature is that you can re-route directions based on the traffic conditions you see on the Map and view side by side how long each route takes and then select the quickest and shortest one. This will come really handy when you wake up late and you need to get to college or work really quick.

A fun fact, here’s a list of some places that you aren’t allowed to see on Google Maps. These parts of the map appear blurred.
