With May coming to an end and June just around the corner, it’s time to do a round up of what to expect this coming June. With big announcements from Microsoft, Samsung, Apple and more, we have a lot of exciting innovations awaiting us this next month. Let’s tackle this date-wise.

June 10th: Apple
Apple will kick it off, starting with the always-anticipated WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference) where Apple will unveil the latest iteration of their Mac OS, said to be centered around power-users and ease of access, as though Apple isn’t already the pioneer in that field. Apple is also expected to unveil the long-awaited iOS 7, the first iteration of iOS after the departure of Scott Fortshall, which is said to have a non-skeumorphic look, now that Jonathen Ive has taken over. A new Mac line-up is also expected with todays new processors and competitive ultra-books. With all of this packed into one event, Apple’s WWDC might just turn out to be rather exciting.

June 20th: Samsung
About the same time last year, the world was claiming that no phone in the world could top the Samsung Galaxy S III. But then at Samsung’s “Unpacked” event at Germany, Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (read about it here), which took the world by surprise, proving to be the only phone more powerful than the Samsung Galaxy S III at the time. Today, with the launch of the revolutionary Samsung Galaxy S4, the world is holding on till they see the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 at the Samsung Preview 2013, which is expected to be no less than the S4, if not better. Of course, there will other devices too, such as the new ATIV series, Samsung Windows 8 series, where Samsung promises to offer some groundbreaking technology, as well as the new Samsung Galaxy Camera, another long-awaited device.

Samsung Preview 2013

June 28th: Microsoft
Microsoft has been working hard to improve the Windows experience with the new Metro UI. With Microsoft’s BUILD this year, the leaks and rumours about Windows 8.1 can finally put to rest as Microsoft unveils the same, with a launch date for the preview of their latest iteration of the OS. While majority of the world ignores the Metro side of Windows on PCs, Microsoft aims to change all that with Windows 8.1, an upgrade to Windows 8, bringing certain new features (as mentioned in our article here). Microsoft is also expected to launch a new mouse with a start button in-built for easy access.

Of course, I’m sure there’s more, but here are some big releases. Rumours claim that Google will launch their Android 4.3, but I believe that Google is waiting it out for all the big companies to release 4.2 first so that they can announce Android 5.0, whatever its called. Google might just launch a 4.3 anyway, but even if they do, I doubt that it would be a big change. Than again, I could be dead wrong, so you can go ahead and ignore the rant I did just there.
