Your guide to iOS 7!

I’ve been watching all my friends with iPhones going gaga over the fact that iOS 7 released so I decided to have a look at what’s new.

One of the changes that we see is the addition of another swipe gesture. Pre iOS 7, to go ‘back’ you would have to click on the back option on your screen as there was no button or gesture to do so. Now with the new OS, suppose you’re in an application like ‘Messages’ and you want to go back from a message to the list of messages, all you need to do is swipe the screen from left to right.

You’ll also notice that double clicking the ‘home’ button will no longer open a drawer that shows all your open apps. Instead you’ll see a bunch of cards that you can navigate through. And to close an app, swipe its card up. And when yo

u’re in this screen full of cards, clicking the home button doesn’t take you to your home screen but it instead takes you to the app you were previously in.

The camera app has also been changed. The navigation through the app is now horizontal. And the ‘options’ is no longer present. There’s a quick toggle to go to HDR mode. And to enable grid view, you have to do it through settings.

To wrap this up, with iOS 7 you can change Siri to a man. So if you prefer an more masculine personal assistant you can change Siri accordingly.

Overall, iOS 7 is a pretty nice thing to upgrade to. Apple hasn’t left anything unimproved. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us in iOS 8!
