It’s that time of the year again. The time when everyone is in a festive mood and is going around wondering what the new year will have in store for them. It is also the time where most people decide to go out on a shopping spree. And what better way to start your new year than to buy some new gadgets. Here is a small list to help you guys make a decision on which gadget should you take. In this article I will be talking only about which smartphone and headphones you should choose.

HEADPHONES:

BEST: The best pair of headphones that I have come across are the Sennheiser Momentum (there maybebetter headphones out there, but these are the best that I have tested). Priced at $349, these headphones have brilliant sound quality and excellent noise reducing properties. While the price tag is a bit too steep, the quality these headphones offer almost makes it worth the cost.

BEST BUY: While people may argue that Bose or Beats should make the cut as the best headphone out there, I am sure there will be no such arguments that can be made in the ‘BEST BUY’ category. The best buy would definitely go to the Audio Technica headphones. The ATH-SJ series is priced at below $100 and the headphones provide a very good sound quality (especially for their price). Furthermore, the SJ series headphones come in trendy colors and styles and are extremely portable which makes them very good for daily use, even with mobile phones. The only drawback is the absence of a microphone, but for a price tag this low, well, who’s complaining.

SMARTPHONE:

BEST: Well the best smartphone out there, according to me, would come down to a tie between two amazing smartphones, HTC’s DROID DNA (HTC J BUTTERFLY in Japan) and Google’s Nexus 4 (made by LG). Both phones come with 1.5GHz quad core processors, 2GB RAM and run Jelly Bean OS (Android 4.1) out of the box. Though we have to choose one phone here so it will have to be the DROID DNA. The DROID DNA trumps the Nexus 4 in only one aspect, its screen. The DROID DNA comes with a full HD 5” screen as compared to the 4.7″ screen in the Nexus 4. The 5″ 1080p screen contains 440 pixels per inch, making viewing anything an absolute pleasure. You can read all about the pros and cons of the smartphone here.

BEST BUY: Google’s Nexus 4. Hands down! There are very few other handsets (currently) could come close to matching the capabilities of this phone, especially if you consider its price tag. The Nexus 4 comes for as cheap as $299 (the 8GB version) and this is the unlocked version available on Google Play (a.k.a Android Market). So there is no need for any tricks to unlock the device, just buy the device and use it. You can read more about the smartphone and some other Google devices here.

Well, that’s all for now. If you want me to give you more information regarding any more devices (TVs, Laptops, etc) please leave a comment below. Also if you have any comments about the article or would just like to express your views, our comments section is always open. Until next time folks!
